Founded in July 1982, Randburg Harriers Running Club prides itself on being a family-oriented running club. We offer a variety of amenities and facilities to our members.

We have a professional club coach with a modern approach to coaching, utilizing electronic media such as videos, blogs, and newsletters. Track coaching is inclusive for all members, with personalized programs available for runners who need specialized training. Coaching is provided by Coach Clint.

Our clubhouse is welcoming, with plenty of shaded areas, a huge parking space, and an enormous, safe playing area for children. The club atmosphere is engaging and family-oriented. We offer light meals, snacks, refreshing cold drinks, and a well-stocked pub. Member functions, social events, and volunteer and helper gatherings are also part of our community spirit.

At race events, we provide hospitality through our club gazebo, which offers a cool, shaded area to relax after a run. Here, members can enjoy snacks and drinks, all hosted by amazing volunteers with the biggest smiles, always ready to ask about your race experience. Our gazebo also serves as a safe place to leave your keys and valuables, and we offer a portable changing ‘room’ at races.

We take pride in our recognizable club colors, with personalization options available directly through the club secretary. Our membership is diverse, ranging from world record holders and SA champions to new runners just getting started. We love running and runners alike—whether you’re an accomplished Comrades runner or a beginner, we want to know you, encourage you, and be part of your running journey.

Our annual award ceremony for our Club Championships recognizes athletes in each age category. We also offer two fully supported club long runs per week—Saturday and Sunday—complete with water and refreshments en route and at the finish. Printed maps are distributed at the start, and a support vehicle is on duty. The routes change every time and vary from 10km to 35km or more, with shorter options available for each run to accommodate all fitness levels. We prioritize your health and strive to keep you injury-free so you can keep running.

We hold one time trial per week, with Thursday evening time trials starting at 5:45 pm—an ideal early evening outing for the whole family. Afterward, enjoy a meal and quality time with your loved ones without worrying about cleaning up.

In addition to road running, we also participate as a club in Cross Country. Randburg Harriers organizes three main events each year: the Valentines 10 km Road Race in February, attracting over 4,000 participants; the Easter 100 km, which is run over three days; and a 21/10 km road race in July.

As part of our Athletics Development Policy, we provide support and assistance to promising or established athletes who are underprivileged, financially disadvantaged, or historically disadvantaged. We proudly support two charities: Wandsworth School (previously Wiggles and Squiggles), a school for children with special needs, and the Anne Harding Cheshire Homes, established to assist those with physical disabilities.
